This was a good compromise, she always wanted a Swiss Army and since this model has been discontinued, it was available at a nice price. I don't wear watches myself but she liked it because it has a little bit of heft to it and she is not big on the slimmer type watches. The numbers are quite large and easy to read and I like the luminous hands and markers which work well when exposed to light. Of course you will have to pay to get it sized so it fits correctly. I think the picture is a good representation of the watch. It isn't particularly shiny as watches go, more of a matte finish if that is a good way to explain it. All I know is she loves it. I will have to keep any eye on it as far as scratching goes. At this price I don't think you can go wrong though. We did receive it with the battery dead, but I guess this might be expected with a discontinued model. It cost about $15 to get it sized and a new battery put in.
